Okay, let take a stab at this… sorry I just couldn’t resist… Facing a weapon on the street is an ever present possibility and so today we are highlighting Extrema Ratio’s Fulcrum compact training knife. Understanding knives will help prevent their intimidation. We personally own over 100 training knives and believe a student should learn tactics against all variants of edged and impact weapons.
This knife is made in Italy and is a stick tang tanto style fixed blade. Made of anodized aircraft aluminum it weighs in at 128g and is extremely robust. The blade length is 110mm with its overall length being 210mm. The handle is made from Forprene and is probably one of the most comfortable training knives I’ve ever held. The Forprene allows the user to get a really good, solid, and rugged grip on the knife. A quick word of warning though, this is great for those with small to medium size hands but those with banana fingers may want to consider the non-compact version of the Fulcrum. The live version of this knife has a serrated edge on the blade and the trainer does not. Apart from that there are not many differences.
This knife looks cool and feels great to hold. Some may feel it’s a bit pricey but the materials used to manufacture this knife will ensure its lifespan and prove it’s a worthwhile investment.
